This documentary follows the lead-up to award-winning entertainment and dancer Debbie Allen and her troupe of young dancers’ annual production of the Hot Chocolate Nutcracker. The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker is a modern, culturally-inclusive take on The Nutcracker written and directed by Allen, incorporating tap, jazz and hip-hop, and Latin American music.

Christine Baranski plays a wealthy Scrooge-like lady who returns to her hometown after her father’s death, ready to sell much of the land over to a developer, until she has a change of heart. Of course, it wouldn’t be called Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square without the great country star and her tunes, so be ready for a killer soundtrack.

Kate and Teddy, two meddling siblings, helped Santa Clause (Kurt Russell) save Christmas in The Christmas Chronicles. Two years later, Kate and Teddy go to a family holiday in Mexico for Christmas but when they try to come back home, they arrive unexpectedly at the North Pole. With Santa and Mrs. Claus, the kids have to save the holiday again—this time from a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel.

After a rough year, we all feel lack of cheer and Santa knows the right person for saving the holidays: his dear friend Mariah Carey. Although put like that it could pass for a documentary, which is exactly the premise of this Christmas Special. A festive mix of music, dancing and animation with the Christmas Queen and stars like Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dog, Charlie Brown family and more.

This is for you if… you just need to boost your holiday spirit.

A third lookalike, evil cousin Lady Fiona, gets into the game as well in a scheme to steal the throne.
