Tell us about your involvement in Global Wellness Day?

I have been the GWD Ambassador for Puerto Rico for the last five years and every year we try to make the movement grow in the minds of our community. Furthermore, I apply all core values to my personal life and the loved ones around me all year round.

What makes you smile or brings you joy and why?
Exercise, wellness

Health all around me makes me smile, and brings me true joy! I believe that if I don’t exercise every morning, my morning didn’t start right. In my daily mission, I try to inspire all around me to find joy in health and wellness initiatives that promote one’s self-love and set realistic goals — and, most importantly, conquering them to set new ones.

What is your daily wellness routine?

I am an early riser so after a quick stretch, you will find me hitting the gym or going for an outdoor run.

What is your favourite quote or affirmation?

Maya Angelou’s quote: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Describe how you achieve mindfulness?

It is the state of being: mindfulness for me is to reach a level of true self-consciousness and awareness of one’s true being. First, loving yourself, admiring your daily achievements, and always looking ahead to what’s to come in this ever-changing world.

What does wellness mean to you?

Health is wellness, but to reach true wellness there are many more components that need to be in place. A human being depends on knowledge, productivity, economic, and most importantly both mental and physical health to reach true wellness.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in nature. I find that the drive comes within and especially for me inspiration is creativity and being able to express it.

What are your go-to wellness apps and/or podcasts? Why?

I am a freak about monitoring my health so Health Mate and my apple watch are the most important daily tools. I have left for a jog without it and, find myself lost in translation! Lol!

Books that changed your wellness perspective and why?
What colour is your parachute, wellness
What Colour Is Your Parachute? by Richard N. Bolles via Amazon

What Color is Your Parachute? by Richard N. Bolles

This book changed my life and might have been the driver to reach my wellness journey. I was in a job I loved but wasn’t giving me the tools nor the forum to grow. This book was the push to get out of my shell.

Name three things for which you are grateful
  • Being a father
  • Being in the wellness industry
  • Being healthy both mentally and physically.
Finally, what words of wisdom can you pass on?

There is no greater journey than living your life. Stop thinking and start acting! The sky is the limit.
