Island Shangri-La’s highly-anticipated new Horizon Club rooms and suites have been revealed – and what lies inside is a sight to behold. Designed by French interior designer Tristan Auer, the rooms are a treasure trove of lust-worthy interior design ideas.

Whether it be for inspiring your own home spruce up, or simply whetting your appetite for booking a stay, here are five desirable design ideas we spotted within Island Shangri-La’s new Horizon Club rooms and suites.

1. Artwork that thinks outside the box

Who says artwork needs to be in a frame? Think outside the box like Horizon Club interior designer Tristan Auer and add custom artwork to sliding petitions. Here, Auer’s taken inspiration from Hong Kong’s local landscape with a motif that depicts the peak, presented in soft, muted hues that are perfect for creating a tranquil bedroom space.

2. Statement-making bathroom tiles

Whether it be stripes, chevron, or a custom motif, patterned tile work ensures a bathroom stands out for all the right reasons. Island Shangri-La’s Horizon Club raises the bar with a hand-tiled ombré green feature wall peppered with a design that reminds us of a field of daisies.

3. An ode to mid-century modern furniture

Whether happy hour in your home is a daily occurrence or a mark of special occasions, a mid-century-inspired bar cart is a stylish and novel way to organise, and celebrate, the art of happy hour. We love Club Horizon’s brass version with a reflective mirror for exuding sophistication without going too glam.

4. Seriously covetable curves

Inspired by designs from the 70s, soft, curved lines are having a huge revival – and integrating a rounded theme to your sofa is a surefire way to nail the look. For extra desirability, make like this Horizon Club room and pair the smooth curves with another retro trend that is having its moment in the sun: sage green.

5. Majestic use of marble

It’s no secret that marble is a favourite bathroom material of most interior designers. Its luxurious attitude is only enhanced when used seamlessly across a space – from sink to floor, to tub. Finished with gilded accents, the result is consistently striking, modern and very Instagrammable. Case in point? This majestic bathroom retreat at Horizon Club.
