We agree that the magnificent Hong Kong skyline is utterly insta-worthy. With its striking architecture, vibrant streets, hiking trails and fabulous foods, this city was practically built for the ‘gram! But if you’re looking to pick the perfect backdrops for photo ops with more wow-factor, we’ve got a single venue that has a host of possibilities.
The Kerry Hotel is known for offering first-class service, moments of pampering, and food you’ll crave long after you leave – but did you know it’s also the perfect place for bolstering up your Instagram feed with some seriously good content? Here, we round up five of our favourite spots at Kerry Hotel for getting snap-happy. iPhone camera at the ready…
1. Infinity Pool
Blue waters, upon blue waters, upon blue skies? Yes please! Kerry Hotel’s infinity pool is the perfect place for an enviable Instagram snap. Along with a 25-metre pool with unobstructed views over Victoria Harbour, there is a topical garden and pool bar too – perfect for completing the feeling of being on holiday, even if it’s just for an hour or two.
2. Base Camp Kerry Sports
With views extending over Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island, Base Camp Kerry Sports is a dream location for taking a snap in your activewear. The space, which is open to all in-house guests and members, is fitted out with cardio and weights equipment, personal trainers and a weekly schedule of classes, including arguably the most ‘grammable workout session – a spin class looking out onto a shimmering skyline.
3. Red Sugar Light Installation
Watch your “likes” climb after posting a picture in front of this statement-making fixture at the entrance of Red Sugar! Created by local artist Adrian Wong, the glowing installation pays homage to the neon street signs of Hong Kong. While out on Red Sugar’s terrace, look out for a second Hong Kong-centric photo op – a retro arrangement of barbershop swirls, also by Wong.
4. Ju Ming Statue
Nestled in the garden of the Lobby Lounge is a magnificent bronze statue that makes for a striking and artistic backdrop for the ‘gram. Titled Preparation for Underarm Strike, the piece was created by celebrated Taiwanese artist Ju Ming. Keep your eyes peeled for a second of Ju Ming’s statues, entitled Enter Tai Chi, inside the lobby too.
5. Red Sugar Outdoor Terrace
The spectacular surroundings of Red Sugar’s outdoor terrace are enough to take your breath away. With 270-degree Victoria Harbour vistas and a lush landscaped outdoor garden, it’s easy to see why it’s up there as one of the city’s best bars. Choose your favourite frame, snap away, and then treat yourself to one of Red Sugar’s delicious cocktails, just because!
